Classes

Yoga Classes in Ilminster, Donyatt and Chard, Somerset.  I also teach yoga at Jordans Courtyard, Horton Cross.

Come and join one of my friendly yoga classes in Somerset. They take place in various spaces in and around Chard and Ilminster in Somerset.

I’ve been practising yoga for 30 years and teaching classes for 11. I love sharing the benefits of yoga with my students and feel that anyone can do yoga, regardless of their shape, age or ability.

I provide plenty of instructions and give variations, so people can move into a yoga pose to a depth that feels right for their body. My students love how they feel after a class.

On Thursday morning I teach in the Yoga Barn at Jordan’s Courtyard near Ilminster. Visit their website for booking and more information.

11am – 12noon on Monday at The Crowshute Centre, Chard TA20 2EZ

Great for older bodies and beginners. A slower class giving you plenty of time to move in and out of a pose at your pace and to a stretch that feels right for your body.

We often use chairs along with other yoga props to help get in and out of poses more easily. I provide plenty of variations to poses to accommodate stiff joints and bad backs.

Somatic Yoga – Donyatt, Somerset

Switch off your busy mind and cultivate a deeper connection with your body.

Somatic Yoga combines movement, breath and mindfulness. You focus more on how you feel as you move slowly, rather than what a pose looks like. This makes it  a lot easier for you to adapt the movement to suit your body.

People who do Somatic Yoga say their body feels lighter and more supple.  It’s good for pain relief, lowers inflammation and leaves you feeling very relaxed.

You don’t need any experience of yoga or somatics to take part. A lot of the movement is done laying down So long as you can get up and down from the floor, you’ll be fine.

A mix of warm up stretches and classic yoga poses that finishes with a guided relaxation. A great way to start your day as you leave feeling alert and energised. Taught in a lovely light room over looking Herne Hill Nature Reserve.

Plenty of free parking.

6.45pm – 7.45pm on Tuesday at The Crowshute Centre, Chard TA20 2EZ

This very popular class is a great all rounder working on both the mind and the body. Expect a mix of standing, seated and laying down poses where I weave in the energy of the season.

9.15am – 10.15am Wednesday at Tatworth Memorial Hall, Kents Rd, TA20 2QW

A mix of warm up stretches and classic yoga poses that finishes with a guided relaxation. A great way to start your day as you leave feeling alert and energised.

A dynamic after work class to challenge your body and balance. Improving your strength as well as flexibility. A blend of flowing yoga sequences and strong standing poses. Finishing with some longer held quiet Yin poses that work deep into the body.

Perfect for anyone who has done yoga before, but also fine if you’re new to yoga and have a reasonable fitness level.  If you’re a runner, cyclist or weight trainer looking for a class to complement your training programme, this is the style for you.
