Yoga for Menopause

Are you are feeling anxious, irritable or very up and down?  Having problems sleeping?   Maybe you’re getting hot flushes or night sweats?  Or is it brain fog and poor concentration that’s frustrating you?  If you’re aged 40 or more chances are your hormone levels are declining.

From late 30s hormone levels start to change, to begin with you probably won’t notice.  But as you enter perimenopause progesterone begins to decline and oestrogen peaks and troughs. These hormonal changes create a myriad of symptoms including migraines, poor sleep, general aches and pains, low libido, bloating, dry skin and just feeling meh with no energy or zest for life.

I can help you manage your symptoms, so your experience of menopause is easier. I’m a certified teacher of Yoga for the Stages of Menopause plus Hormone Yoga Therapy.  Each method takes a different approach to managing the symptoms of low hormone levels. Hormone Yoga Therapy can be used to manage other hormonal conditions such as hypothyroidism and Polycystic Ovaries.  You can read more about the method here

Yoga for the Stages of Menopause

My Yoga for Menopause events empower and support women in their 40s and 50s as they transition through menopause.  Expect a combination of breathwork, yoga poses and lifestyle tips to help target bone and muscle health, improve sleep, aid digestion, increase energy, improve mood and manage stress. These events are small, supportive and free of judgment. They are open to all women who are either in or approaching their menopause years. Suitable for complete beginners, so don’t worry if you haven’t done any yoga before.


Courses and Workshops

Yoga for Menopause Workshops – £40

  • 2pm – 5.30pm Saturday 9th October at Nine Springs Natural Health Centre, Yeovil
  • 9.30am – 1pm Saturday 16th October at The Glow Studio, Bridport
  • 9.30am – 1pm Sunday 24th October at Whitelackington Village Hall, nr Ilminster

During this workshop you will gain a greater understanding of what happens to your sex and stress hormones as you transition from perimenopause through to post menopause, and the affect that has on your mind and body. 

I will teach you quick and easy yoga and lifestyle techniques you can incorporate into a busy day that alleviate menopause symptoms.  We will also take a look at how yoga can help reduce the risk of health conditions associated with post menopause.  

This workshop is suitable for any woman at any stage of the menopause.  Also women approaching perimenopause who want to know what to expect and the lifestyle changes they can make now to make their menopause easier. 

All the techniques I will teach are simple and suitable for everyone, so you don’t need to have any yoga experience.

Learn what happens to your hormones during the different stages of menopause and simple yoga techniques you can use to manage various symptoms and improve your health.  Each week we’ll focus on a different theme including: Sleep, Muscle and Bone Health (including pelvic floor) and Menopause Mind.
